Two British hikers have been missing in Italy’s Dolomites since New Year’s Day, prompting a search effort.
Trento: So, here’s the scoop. Aziz Ziriat, 36, and Samuel Harris, 35, have been missing for a week now. They were last heard from on New Year’s Day while hiking in the Dolomites.
These two guys from London were all about that off-grid life. They sent their last messages from the Trentino region, and it seems they were at a hut called Casina Dosson near Tione Di Trento.
They were supposed to catch a flight back to London on Monday, but when they didn’t show up, that’s when the alarm bells started ringing.
Now, a whole team of rescuers, including Alpine Rescue and the fire brigade, is out there looking for them. But the recent snowfall is making it tough to reach the area.
Rebecca Dimmock, Aziz’s girlfriend, shared that they were planning to hike from hut to hut. She mentioned they wanted to enjoy nature and have some cozy nights by the fire with red wine.
She even got a message from Aziz saying they made it to the hut and were having a good time, but it was freezing. It’s a tough situation, and everyone is hoping for their safe return.
