A notorious haunted house in Essex has finally sold for £250,000 after a series of terrifying experiences by its previous owners
St Osyth: So, this house, known as The Cage, just sold for £250,000. Can you believe it? The last owner had such a wild experience that she actually ran away!
She said something unknown threw her to the ground when she was pregnant. Talk about a scary situation! The previous owner, Vanessa, had her own share of spooky encounters.
Vanessa bought the place back in 2005 and spent 12 years trying to sell it after being haunted by all sorts of ghostly happenings. She even had a ghost that liked to spank people!
After a lot of trouble, she finally listed it for £240,000 in 2020, but it went back on the market for £250,000 later. During that time, the new owners used it as a holiday rental, calling it a cozy spot.
This house has a dark history, too. It used to be a medieval prison for witches. Vanessa didn’t know it was haunted when she moved in, but things got creepy fast.
She saw ghostly figures, strange blood stains, and even felt a cold presence. The final straw was when her CCTV caught what she thought was a ghostly goat!
Vanessa tried to sell it multiple times, but no one wanted it. She even wrote a book about her experiences. Now, after all those years, someone finally bought it!
It’s a quirky little place with a lot of character, and I guess it’s time for someone else to take care of it. Who knows what they’ll find?
