In a video before the award, Jimmy shared how Horden has had its share of bad press. But at the Hub House, they’re all about support and services for those in need.
He was genuinely surprised by the nomination, saying it made him feel like he’s on the right track. “Volunteers are priceless,” he noted, and that really hits home.
When he got on stage to accept the award, you could see the joy and disbelief on his face. He mentioned how Horden has faced negativity in the past.
With tears in his eyes, he said, “I am flying high.” It was such a heartfelt moment!
Host Peter Barron couldn’t resist teasing him about his cooking skills, joking that he might cater next year’s event. Jimmy was quick to respond, “You donate the food, I’ll cook it.” Classic Jimmy!
