Warrington’s community rallies to support flood victims with essential supplies
Warrington: The local MP, Sarah Hall, is reaching out to everyone in the community. She’s asking for help to support residents who really need essential supplies right now.
The focus is on gathering food, cleaning products, and toiletries. These items will help families and individuals as they start to recover from the floods.
Here’s a quick list of what’s urgently needed:
- New Cleaning Products: Think bleach and disinfectant.
- New Cleaning Supplies: Cloths, sponges, mops, buckets, and gloves.
- New Store Cupboard Foods: Tinned meat, fish, veggies, pulses, long-life juices, jam, tea, coffee, long-life milk, cereal, rice, and pasta.
- New Toiletries: Deodorant, shampoo, shower gel, and more.
The Warrington Islamic Centre on Lockton Lane is stepping up as a collection point. You can drop off donations today, Tuesday, from 10 am to 4 pm.
Ms. Hall mentioned that they’re currently only accepting these specific items. They’re coordinating larger donations separately to meet the unique needs of residents.
She also noted that the fundraiser is still open, and they’re using donations to buy supplies directly.
“We’re so grateful for all the help and the hard work from volunteers,” she added. “Thank you!”
Every donation is being used to buy essential supplies, making sure that contributions go straight to those affected by the flooding.
