The Vale of Belvoir Lions Club and locals joined forces to clean St Mary’s Church after severe flooding caused significant damage
Bottesford: A community really stepped up to help after the church wall got damaged in the floods. It was a tough day when the high street was completely underwater.
Residents and local businesses felt the impact, especially with the wall of St Mary’s Church taking a hit. But the good news? People rallied together to lend a hand.
About 40 to 50 folks, including members of the Vale of Belvoir Lions Club, showed up to tackle the mess. They really made a difference!
A spokesperson from the Lions Club praised everyone’s efforts, saying they did an amazing job clearing the debris. They were especially grateful to local leaders and volunteers who helped out.
Many people brought tools like brooms, shovels, and wheelbarrows, all eager to pitch in. It was heartwarming to see so many come together for a common cause.
With everyone working side by side, the cleanup went smoothly. They even had some heavy lifting done earlier in the day, which made things easier.
