A video has surfaced showing police seemingly beating a man at Manchester Airport, prompting an investigation into the incident.
Manchester: So, there’s this shocking video going around. It shows police officers seemingly beating a man at Manchester Airport. It’s pretty wild, right?
The footage, taken by a holidaymaker, shows several officers striking the guy while he’s on the ground. It all went down at the bus terminal on a Sunday afternoon.
You can see one officer hitting the man in the stomach and kicking him. Another officer is also seen hitting him while holding his head. It’s not a good look.
Later clips show five officers trying to restrain him on the floor. Greater Manchester Police are now looking into the video, which was first shared by the Manchester Evening News.
A spokesperson mentioned they get why people are concerned about the force used and that their professional standards unit is checking out all the footage, including body cameras and CCTV.
The man was arrested for being drunk and disorderly, according to the police. Just a few weeks ago, two guys were charged for assaulting officers at the airport, but no charges were filed against the police in that case.
