But it gets crazier. The FBI found over 150 homemade explosives at his place, making it the biggest stash they’ve ever seen.
They described him as a real danger to the community. When they searched his home, they found all sorts of explosive devices, including pipe bombs. Can you believe that? He was living on a 20-acre property with two young kids, too.
Brad was arrested earlier this month for having an unregistered short-barrel rifle, but it turns out he had a lot more going on. He even had some disfigured fingers from a previous explosion back in 2021. Talk about a red flag!
During the search, they found some devices labeled “lethal” and a jar with unstable materials that said “do not touch.” It’s like something out of a movie. One of the backpacks had a patch that read “#NoLivesMatter,” which is linked to some pretty extreme ideologies.
According to the FBI, this group promotes some dangerous ideas, including targeted attacks and mass killings. The court documents mentioned that Brad had expressed support for political assassinations and was even looking to get into sniper shooting.
His lawyer is trying to argue that he’s not a threat, saying there’s no evidence he ever threatened anyone. They claim he’s just a hardworking family man with no criminal record. But with all this going on, it’s hard to see how anyone could feel safe.
A federal judge has blocked his release, and it looks like he’ll be staying in custody for now. It’s a wild story, and it’s definitely got people talking.
