An investigation is underway after a police officer’s altercation with a 15-year-old girl at a London train station raised concerns
London: So, there was this incident at a train station where a police officer got into it with a 15-year-old girl. It’s pretty concerning, right? The watchdog is looking into it.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct, or IOPC for short, is on the case. They say the officer used force when he arrested and handcuffed the girl. She was later let go at Camden Road station.
This all went down on September 22, and it seems a witness thought the officer was a bit too rough. Now, the IOPC is asking anyone who saw what happened to come forward.
Charmaine Arbouin, the IOPC regional director, mentioned that this happened in a busy spot, so there might be people who recorded it on their phones. They really want to get all the details and any footage that could help.
They’ve already got some police body cam footage and CCTV from the station, but they’re hoping more witnesses will step up.
