Whiteparish: So, there’s this old barn from a pig farm that closed down back in 2003. It’s sitting just east of the village and north of Cowesfield Green. The folks who own it are the ones living at Cowesfield House nearby.

They’ve got plans to turn this barn into five one-storey homes. Each place will have three bedrooms, a lounge, a kitchen with a dining area, a bathroom, and even a utility room for storage. Sounds pretty cozy, right?

According to a statement from Atlas Planning, this project is all about adding more homes to the area. They say it’ll help house buyers and meet the housing targets that Wiltshire Council is struggling with. Plus, it’ll create jobs in construction, which is a nice bonus.

In the long run, having new neighbors means more people using local shops and services, which is great for the economy. The designs for the new homes are meant to fit in with the barn’s original agricultural vibe, so they shouldn’t mess with the area’s look.

Access to the site is good, and there’s enough space for everyone to enjoy their own little outdoor area. A structural report even says the barn is in pretty good shape, with just a few minor fixes needed. So, it looks like this project is on solid ground!

They plan to get to the construction site via Romsey Road, making it all pretty straightforward.
