Tennessee: So, there’s this woman named Katherine Lamb-Jones who went out for a steak dinner with her family. She told the server about her serious lemon allergy, but guess what? They served her two dishes with lemons! This mistake sent her straight to the ER.
She’s now suing LongHorn Steakhouse for a million bucks, claiming they ignored her requests for a lemon-free meal. The whole thing has caused her a lot of pain, both physically and emotionally, plus some hefty medical bills.
The incident happened on November 26, 2023, at a LongHorn in Madison, Tennessee. Katherine had eaten there before, and the hostess knew about her allergy. But when they sat down, she had to remind the server again about her lemon issue.
After ordering, she even double-checked if her food had any lemon in it. But when she found out her green beans were prepared with lemon, she sent them back. Then, when she started eating her steak, she learned it was seasoned with lemon too. That’s when things went south, and she ended up needing emergency treatment.
Now, Katherine is holding LongHorn and its parent company accountable, saying they didn’t take care of her as a customer should be treated. They’ve denied any wrongdoing, saying they acted reasonably.
This isn’t the first time a restaurant has faced a lawsuit over food allergies. Earlier this year, a guy in New York sued McDonald’s after a slice of cheese on his burger sent him into anaphylactic shock. It’s a serious issue, and it’s good to see people standing up for their rights.
