A woman surprised onlookers by practicing yoga on a flooded motorway in Manchester, which had been closed due to severe flooding.
The road looked more like a lake on January 2, with cars stuck and submerged. It had been closed since New Year’s Day after a night of relentless rain. A local guy, David, was out walking with his daughter when they saw this colorful figure on the road. At first, they thought it was a big bird!
When they got closer, they realized it was a woman practicing yoga. David said she looked like a pro and thought it was pretty cool. Imagine telling your kids you did yoga in the middle of a motorway!
By the way, there were reports of five cars trapped under the A555 bridge, with just their roofs peeking out of the water. Police even had to rescue some folks from a car earlier that day.
The A555 runs along the southern border of Greater Manchester and has a history of flooding. An investigation from a previous flood revealed that the road was prone to flooding during heavy rain. It’s been closed multiple times over the years due to similar issues. What a crazy situation!
