A woman has died and two men are injured following a shooting in north-west London, prompting a police investigation and manhunt.
London: A tragic shooting took place in Harlesden, leaving a woman dead and two men hurt. It happened on Saturday night, around 9:15 PM, when police rushed to Gifford Road.
The woman, thought to be in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. One of the injured men is in critical condition, while the other has injuries that aren’t life-threatening. The police are on high alert, with a cordon set up at the intersection of Gifford Road and Creukhorne Road.
According to a church leader, the victims were attending a wake when the drive-by shooting occurred. Pastor Lawrence Larbie from the River of Life Elim Pentecostal Church shared that the wake was wrapping up just before the incident.
He described the chaos, saying, “It was pandemonium in the building.” Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots, with one neighbor recalling five shots in quick succession. Another resident thought it was fireworks until they realized the seriousness of the situation.
Superintendent Tony Josephs addressed the community, calling the event shocking and assuring them that detectives are working hard to find those responsible. He urged anyone with information to come forward, emphasizing the need for answers for the grieving family.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. The local community is understandably shaken by this violent act.
