Worcester: Mount Battenhall residents turned into detectives for a night filled with mystery and fun, inspired by Richard Osman’s Thursday Murder Club.
With the Netflix adaptation coming soon, the timing was perfect for this murder mystery event at the retirement village.
The team wanted to bring some crime-solving excitement to the community, and they nailed it.
Transporting everyone back to the 1980s, the venue on Battenhall Avenue set the stage for a murder mystery that kicked off on the first day of Live Aid.
With classic tunes from the era playing and everyone dressed in 80s fashion, guests had to figure out who killed the postmistress during an immersive performance by the Magor Amateur Dramatics Society.
Clare Davies, the general manager, shared, “Events like this show what Mount Battenhall is all about — giving our homeowners chances to enjoy an active lifestyle and make lasting friendships.”
She added, “Seeing everyone in their 80s outfits, enjoying a great meal, and working together to solve the mystery really brought our community spirit to life.”
The evening took place in Sprigg’s, the village’s restaurant, where guests savored a three-course dinner while discussing clues and suspects.
Sally Young, a homeowner, said, “The murder mystery night was a blast! It had a great mix of drama, humor, and delicious food that kept us entertained all night.”
She also mentioned, “Our table came in second place, and I can’t wait for next year. I’ll definitely take more notes next time!”
