Wrexham Council is set to implement round-the-clock gritting on priority routes due to ongoing icy conditions and sub-zero temperatures
Wrexham: So, Wrexham Council is really stepping up their game with the icy weather. They’ve confirmed they’ll be gritting priority routes non-stop to keep things moving.
After a few days of freezing temps, it’s about time, right? The Met Office even issued a fresh weather warning, saying more icy conditions are on the way.
Darren Williams, the Chief Officer for Environment and Technical Services, mentioned that they’ll focus on the main roads, schools, and bus routes. Sounds like a solid plan!
But he did give a heads-up that untreated roads might be tricky to navigate. So, if you can, it’s best to avoid driving unless you really have to.
He also pointed out that the cold snap is expected to stick around for a bit, so everyone should be super careful when out and about.
They’re doing their best to keep the Priority One routes clear, but there might be some disruptions to waste and recycling collections due to the weather. Just a little patience is needed!
So, if you’re in Wrexham, keep an eye on the roads and take care out there!
