Wrexham: The council is still dealing with a mountain of waste from the holidays. They’ve been busy collecting everything, but it’s taking longer than usual.

They sent out a quick update saying, “We’re finishing some rounds early because of the high volume. Don’t worry, we’ll come back for the rest once we empty our trucks. Just make sure your recycling is secure from the wind.”

Since January 1 was a bank holiday, pick-ups for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are a day late this week. So, if you usually have your bin collected on Friday, it’ll be picked up on Saturday instead.

Cllr Marc Jones shared an email with his ward, mentioning that anything not collected should be picked up on Monday. He thanked Kerry from street scene for the quick response and said he’d send in specific streets for collection once he had the details.

He also heard that some bins in Maesydre weren’t collected, and he’s looking into it. The council reassured everyone that the household recycling centres are open as usual, where you can drop off extra materials and order additional containers.
