Laura Evison, owner of Regent House of Flowers, received the F Jones Initiative prize for her charity work benefiting veterans and mountain rescue.
Laura Evison just won the award. She owns the Regent House of Flowers. Laura also paints landscapes. She raffles them for charity, and the money goes to Brecon Mountain Rescue and SSAFA. SSAFA helps armed forces members.
She does this for her partner, Mick Smith. Sadly, Mick died in 2021 at age 46. He took his own life.
Laura began painting after Mick’s death. She paints scenes from their walks. Mick was a veteran, explaining the SSAFA donations.
The F Jones team gave Laura her prize. They noted her way of coping with grief. Laura also gave money to another charity.
A woman broke her ankle in Snowdonia. Laura drew the scene while waiting. The drawing raised £735. It aided the Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue center.
Laura also painted “A sunset they never had.” Her work was shown in The Drawing Board. They called her an inspirational woman who faced a lot.
