Four train stations in Wrexham are ranked poorly for service and punctuality, causing frustration among commuters in the area
Recent data shows that only 22% of trains at Chirk were on time over the last three months. That’s pretty dismal! Ruabon isn’t doing much better, with just 25% of its services arriving as scheduled. Wrexham General and Gwersyllt are also in the mix, but they’re slightly better off, with 31% and 33% on-time rates, respectively.
Wrexham Central is the only one that’s not in the bottom tier, managing to get 49% of its trains on time. Still, 8% of those services were cancelled, which isn’t great either. A spokesperson from Transport for Wales acknowledged the issues, saying that recent storms and landslips have caused major disruptions.
They’re working on it, though! New trains have been introduced, and they’re trying to improve performance. They even saw a 27% increase in trains arriving on time recently. Fingers crossed things get better for Wrexham commuters soon!
