A new dining spot called District has opened up in Blackburn, offering a diverse menu and a fresh atmosphere for locals and visitors alike
Blackburn: So, there’s this new place called District that just opened up right across from the bus station. It took over the old Coffeepedia spot, which was also run by the same folks.
They spent a whopping £80,000 to give the place a complete makeover last year. Now, it’s all spruced up with stylish booths and cool wall art.
The restaurant is the brainchild of Arshad Vahora, Ashfaq Vahora, and Osama Shaikh. Osama mentioned they were getting tons of requests for food, so they decided to rebrand and launch District back in December.
People were coming in asking for more than just snacks, so they figured it was time to step up their game. The vibe in the evenings has been fantastic, especially with folks heading over to that side of town. They’re open from 10 am until late every day.
District has a pretty varied menu now, including breakfast, curries, and some authentic Indian dishes. Osama shared that they plan to keep adding new items regularly to keep things fresh.
They want to celebrate the different regions of India and Pakistan, showcasing the unique flavors and cuisines from each area. The furniture is all brand new, giving it a proper restaurant feel instead of just a coffee shop.
What’s cool is that their menu is available all day. So, if someone swings by in the evening craving an English breakfast, they can whip that up too. Everything is made fresh, which is a big plus.
They’ve got a mix of dishes, from curries to jacket potatoes with butter chicken and chicken tikka. Osama proudly said that nobody in Blackburn does pani puri quite like them, and it’s been a hit with diners.
These signature dishes are really what make them stand out. Sounds like a great spot to check out!
