Get ready for a thrilling murder mystery at Aberystwyth Arts Centre this February
Aberystwyth: Exciting news for theatre lovers! The Aberystwyth Arts Centre is gearing up for a gripping show next month.
The Community Theatre will stage ‘The Suspicions of Mr Whicher’ on February 7 and 8. It’s a tale packed with murder, secrets, and the quest for truth.
Set in the summer of 1860, the story unfolds in a grand country house. Tragedy strikes when a young boy is discovered dead in an outside privy.
All signs point to someone in the grieving household as the culprit. The famous detective Jonathan Whicher from Scotland Yard is called in, but this case is unlike any he’s faced before.
This thrilling murder mystery is based on the real-life case of Constance Kent from 1860, which even captivated viewers on ITV back in 2011. Now, the Community Theatre is bringing this suspenseful story to life on stage.
Director Richard Hull is excited about the production. He says Aberystwyth has a great tradition of showcasing talented actors and community performances. He believes this murder mystery will be a hit!
Richard adds that the play is fast-paced, filled with intrigue, and a fantastic way to see local talent shine. It’s a chance to experience a future classic live in Aberystwyth.
Mark your calendars! Performances are set for Friday, February 7 at 7:30 PM and Saturday, February 8 at 2:30 PM and 7:30 PM. Tickets are priced at £15, with concessions at £13, including booking fees.
This adaptation is by Alexandra Wood, based on Kate Summerscale’s bestseller, ‘The Suspicions of Mr Whicher.’
