Loch Lomond Shores has closed most stores due to Storm Eowyn, leaving only Sports Direct and Frasers open amid severe weather warnings
Loch Lomond: So, here’s the scoop. Loch Lomond Shores decided to shut down almost all their stores on Friday, January 24, thanks to Storm Eowyn. Only Sports Direct and Frasers are still open.
They also mentioned that SEALIFE and the Jurassic Grill won’t be welcoming visitors today because of a serious red weather warning for wind. Safety first, right?
Sports Direct and Frasers are keeping their doors open from 10am to 5:30pm, but folks are scratching their heads about that decision. The Fraser Group, which runs these stores, is led by Michael Murray.
People in the area are buzzing on social media, questioning why these stores are open when there’s a ‘danger to life’ warning. One person even said it’s disgusting to put staff at risk.
Another chimed in, calling it ridiculous. They pointed out that a threat to life affects everyone, not just those living far away. It’s a valid point!
Earlier, we heard that Scots were advised to stay indoors as the Met Office issued a red warning for wind. It’s serious out there!
Police are urging motorists to avoid traveling in the red warning area, and ScotRail has suspended all services for safety reasons. Better safe than sorry!
The Met Office’s red warning is in effect from 10am to 5pm, covering a wide area including Glasgow and Edinburgh, and even reaching up to Jura in Argyll and Bute.
We’ve reached out to the Fraser Group for their take on this situation.
