Antrobus House threw a fabulous 1920s party to mark its centennial, complete with themed attire, delicious food, and live music.
Salisbury: On Saturday, January 18, Antrobus House had a big bash for its 100th birthday. They took everyone back to the 1920s for a night to remember.
Guests dressed up in their best Great Gatsby and Peaky Blinders outfits. They kicked off the evening with tasty canapes and drinks in The Lady Florence Room, followed by a lovely two-course meal from “Bread and Butter from Tangley” in the Edmund Hall. A saxophonist, Graeme Budd, added a nice touch with his music.
After dinner, Margaret Aymes, the chair of the Lady Antrobus Trust, shared some fascinating history about the house. She talked about how Lady Florence Antrobus built it as a tribute to her son, Lieutenant Edmund Antrobus, who sadly lost his life in World War I.
Once the speech wrapped up, everyone got ready to dance. The Edmund Hall was transformed for a fun night of music from the Elliott Rooney band, known as Mister Shakes. It was a fantastic way to celebrate a century of memories!
