Get ready for an extraordinary musical experience in Malvern with local choirs joining the renowned Armonico Consort for a grand concert
Malvern: Local singers are teaming up with a top UK choir for an exciting “supersize” concert. It’s called Supersize Polyphony 2, and it’s happening at Malvern Theatres on January 24.
In this concert, singers from various local groups, including churches and schools, will join the Armonico Consort. They’re known for their massive choral performances, and this one promises to be no different.
The concert will feature a mix of music from different eras, with some pieces having up to 60 parts! Imagine the sound filling the whole space. They’ll perform works from famous composers like Byrd and Tallis, along with a new piece by Hollywood composer David Buckley.
Christopher Monks, the artistic director, shared that the idea is to create an immersive experience. In their previous project, they surrounded the audience with singers, which was both thrilling and a bit scary for the performers.
This time, they’re including local choirs and kids, giving everyone a chance to shine. It’s all about making the concert even more special and engaging.
In Malvern, the professional singers will be joined by the Kings School Worcester Chamber Choir and around 100 local school singers. It’s going to be a fantastic night of music!
