Aspiring Communities invites locals to explore their new multi-faith centre with a special opening event this January
Beeston: After years of planning, Aspiring Communities is finally ready to show off their new multi-faith centre. They’re throwing open the doors this Saturday, January 18, 2025, from noon to 3 PM. It’s a great chance for everyone to come by, check out the space, and grab some refreshments.
A spokesperson shared that they’re kicking things off with a tea and coffee morning for the elderly starting on February 8. They’re also looking to set up a special morning just for ladies. Plus, they’re thinking about organizing activities for kids with additional needs and even some British Wrestling sessions. Sounds like they’re really trying to cater to everyone!
However, not everything has gone smoothly. An earlier event before Christmas didn’t go as planned because it wasn’t advertised well to the community, which caused a bit of a stir. They’ve since apologized for that mix-up.
The centre, built on the site of the old Ice Pak factory, had to go through two planning applications and a public inquiry before it finally got the green light in June 2017. It’s been a long road, but it looks like it’s all coming together now!
