On Sunday morning, users got a message saying, “Thank you for bearing with us.” Barclays is working hard to fix the balance issue, but it’s taking longer than expected.
The problem is due to a technical glitch, not a cyber attack. Barclays apologized for the ongoing issues and assured customers they wouldn’t lose any money.
They advised customers not to try making payments again, as some may still see outdated balances. However, customers can still use their cards and withdraw cash.
On social media, Barclays suggested that customers without access to money reach out to friends or family for help. When one user expressed frustration, Barclays shared links to food banks and support services.
