Get ready for a night of laughs at Barnton Cricket Club’s comedy event supporting a great cause
Barnton: The Barnton Cricket Club is gearing up for a charity comedy night next month. They’ve got 15 comedians ready to bring the laughs to over 100 guests.
These funny folks are performing for free to help raise money for Camps International. This organization gives school kids a chance to travel the world and do some good.
One of the trips is heading to Borneo, where they’ll help build wildlife parks and protect endangered orangutans. How cool is that?
Ruth Elliott-Smith, who’s organizing the event on February 1, said it’s a great night out for a good cause at a reasonable price. She hopes it’ll put smiles on everyone’s faces.
Ruth mentioned that the orangutans are in serious trouble. There’s a young woman from Barnton who wants to go help out, and they’re hoping to raise enough money for her ticket.
They’re aiming to collect over £1,200 for the charity, and there’ll be a cash prize raffle too. Sounds like a fun night ahead!
With a mix of family-friendly and observational comedy, it’s sure to be a blast. Ruth said they usually have one comic per night, but this time, they’ve got 15, so there’s something for everyone.
This comedy group formed just last July and has been super popular, performing all over the country at clubs and charity events.
Ruth added that the goal is to have a lot of fun and share some laughs, especially since times are tough for many folks right now.
The event kicks off at 7:30 PM on Saturday, February 1, at the cricket club on Townfield Lane. It’s for over 16s only, and tickets are just £10, available at the door or by calling 07792 519172.
