Bournemouth: During the festive season, nearly 13 million people flocked to the BCP town centres. That’s a lot of holiday cheer! The BCP Council shared that this surge happened over a seven-week period.

In Bournemouth alone, about 5.68 million visitors came to check out the town centre and the Christmas Tree Wonderland. That’s around 125,000 people each day! Poole wasn’t far behind with 4.81 million visitors, while Christchurch welcomed 2.47 million.

Richard Herrett from BCP Council pointed out how crucial major events are for these town centres. He mentioned that an extra million people visited compared to last year, which really helped local businesses thrive.

Paul Kinvig, who’s the chief operating officer at Bournemouth Town Centre BID, said the vibe was just amazing during Christmas. He was thrilled to see such a lively atmosphere and a big jump in foot traffic.

One of the highlights this year was the new Festive Streets event. Every Thursday, families enjoyed fun activities around Bournemouth, making it a hit with shoppers and visitors alike.
