Beckfoot Allerton Primary School and Nursery Receives Outstanding Ofsted Report

Bradford: Beckfoot Allerton Primary School and Nursery, located on Garforth Street, was inspected by Ofsted on December 17 and 18 last year.

The school got top marks for behavior, personal development, and early years provision. It’s clear the kids really enjoy reading there.

The report highlighted “significant and rapid improvements” at the school. It emphasized a strong commitment to providing the best for all students, especially those facing challenges.

Inspectors noted that the children are “highly motivated” and feel safe and happy because they know the adults care about them.

According to the report, pupils thrive due to the high-quality education they receive. Their behavior is exemplary, as they truly embrace the school’s values.

Ofsted praised the training teachers receive, which leads to skilled teaching. However, they pointed out that when students make mistakes, these aren’t always addressed consistently.

For improvement, inspectors suggested the school develop strategies to build learning over time across all subjects. They mentioned that sometimes misconceptions aren’t corrected, leading to persistent errors.

Attendance was another area of focus, with Ofsted noting that some students’ attendance is below expectations. The school is working hard to improve this.

Michelle Blanchard MBE, the headteacher, expressed her delight at the recognition of the staff’s hard work. She highlighted the positive impact of their commitment on the school community.

She also mentioned the support from families and the pride students take in their school, which has been crucial for the school’s progress.

Shirley Watson, CEO of Beckfoot Trust, praised the transformation of the school since joining the Trust in 2021, creating an inclusive culture where everyone feels they belong.

She described the Ofsted report as a pleasure to read, recognizing the many exceptional features of Beckfoot Allerton.
