Bicester shoppers have come together to donate toys, ensuring many children have a joyful Christmas this year
Bicester: Tesco stores in Oxfordshire reached out to shoppers for toy donations. They wanted to make sure kids who might not get gifts still had something special.
At the Bicester Superstore, 200 new toys were collected for Oxfordshire Fostering. This brought joy to many kids on Christmas Day.
Claire De Silva, who heads up community efforts at Tesco, expressed her gratitude. She said, “We really can’t thank our customers enough for their kind contributions to this great cause.”
She added that throughout the year, Tesco supports local children and communities, and the people of Bicester always step up to help.
“Once again, we are grateful to the people of Bicester for showing that the magic of Christmas is very much alive and well,” she said.
Thanks to the community, many children experienced happiness during a time that can be tough for some families.
The toy donation campaign ran across the UK in December, with over 125,000 items collected. Plus, Tesco donated £25,000 to the Salvation Army to help vulnerable families during the festive season.
