The new Bottega Italian store in Billericay offers a variety of Italian groceries and drinks, attracting many curious customers since its opening.
Billericay: The Bottega, which means boutique in Italian, has opened in a spot that used to be a vintage store. It’s right next to Costa Coffee and offers 1,000 different items for Italian and European cooking.
Marco and Luana Trovato run the Bottega. They also own an Italian supermarket in Chelmsford. The new store serves hot drinks, soft drinks, cheese, and cured meats.
Since opening on Wednesday, many curious customers have visited. Marco, 38, shared that they offer a full range of Italian groceries, including pasta, flour, pastries, and fresh coffee.
People are excited about the new store. Many have come just to browse and see what’s new on Billericay High Street. Some said they had never seen anything like it before.
Marco chose Billericay for its customer base. Many locals had to drive to Chelmsford for his products. He praised the vibrant High Street, noting it has many independent shops and family businesses.
He believes Billericay is a great spot for the Bottega. It offers Italian goods that aren’t available at nearby Waitrose. They import their products, keeping prices reasonable.
Some pastas and sauces start at just a pound, with premium options available too. Although linked to the Italian Supermarket, the Bottega is its own brand, and Marco plans to expand further.
He mentioned having a couple of locations in mind but wants to stay a family business. He likes the Bottega brand and knows timing is key for expansion.
