London: The Bishops Avenue, often called ‘Billionaires’ Row’, is in the spotlight as Barnet Council rolls out new parking plans. They want to tackle parking issues and enhance road safety.

Recently, the council shared details about these changes on the Public Notice Portal. They’re looking to add double and single yellow lines and tweak current waiting times.

The goal? To keep traffic flowing smoothly, prevent obstructive parking, and make the roads safer for everyone. Sounds good, right?

For instance, a single yellow line will pop up along parts of The Bishops Avenue, specifically between Lyttelton Road and Aylmer Road. This will be in effect from 8 am to 6:30 pm on weekdays and 8 am to 1 pm on Saturdays.

Over on Granville Road, they’re planning to replace a resident permit parking bay with a single yellow line waiting restriction. This will be active from 11 am to 12 pm on weekdays.

If everything goes through, they’ll also extend the ‘school, keep clear’ marking outside Lyonsdown School. The current hours are from 8 am to 9:30 am and 2:45 pm to 4:15 pm, but they’ll stretch it to 4:45 pm in the afternoon.

Plus, a new ‘school, keep clear’ marking might be added on Fallows Close, running from 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays. They’re really trying to maximize resident parking, which is a win for locals.

In Leopold Road, they might extend the ‘resident permit holders only’ bays by converting some existing single yellow lines. They’re also looking to add new parking bays on Woodville Road.

And it doesn’t stop there! New double yellow lines are on the table for several roads, which would mean no parking or waiting at any time. This could really change the game for traffic in the area.

Anyone who wants to weigh in on these plans can send their thoughts to the council before February 20. Just quote reference number SCR618 in your message.
