Blackburn: So, there was this 20-year-old guy named Kaiden Wynn who decided to take a joyride on a stolen KTM 125 bike. He was zipping around Mill Hill without a helmet, and the cops had spotted him a few times already.

On June 25, around 8 PM, an officer named PC Howarth saw him again. Wynn was in a bright blue hoodie, looking pretty reckless. The bike he was riding had been reported stolen about a month earlier.

Things escalated when a police helicopter got involved. They played some footage in court, showing Wynn speeding through the streets of Mill Hill. He was all over the place, ignoring stop signs and nearly crashing into another car while riding on the wrong side of the road.

Eventually, the video showed him ditching the bike and running away on foot. But the helicopter’s heat sensors tracked him down, and the police arrested him shortly after.

The stolen bike was found, and it had seen better days. Originally worth £3,700, it had about £2,000 worth of damage, including a fresh coat of black paint and some serious wear and tear.

When the police interviewed Wynn the next day, he initially kept quiet. Later, he claimed he bought the bike for £150 but wouldn’t say from whom. When shown the video, he still denied it was him riding.

Wynn, who lives on Cleveleys Road in Blackburn, eventually pleaded guilty to several charges, including dangerous driving and handling stolen goods. His lawyer said he felt really bad about what he did and was trying to turn his life around.

In court, the judge decided to give him a break, sentencing him to eight months in a young offenders’ institute, but it’s suspended for 18 months. The judge thinks he can be rehabilitated, but they’re keeping an eye on him.

Wynn also has to complete 15 rehabilitation activity days and pass an extended driving test before he can hit the road again.
