Blackburn: On January 29, police worked with partner agencies in Blackburn and Darwen. They aimed to tackle community concerns through various operations.

The operation was successful. Officers seized a large amount of drugs, illegal tobacco, and vapes. They also conducted road safety checks.

As part of Operation Warrior, police executed a drug warrant on St James Road. They found cannabis, crack cocaine, and a large sum of cash.

Two people, a 34-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman, were arrested for possession with intent to supply. They have been released under investigation.

The Darwen Neighbourhood Policing team focused on road safety. They checked 17 vehicles, issuing prohibition notices to three of them.

One vehicle was seized because the driver had no valid license. Another driver received a ticket for not having a valid MOT.

During the checks, a 62-year-old man from Manchester was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs. He has also been released under investigation.

Officers collaborated with Trading Standards to inspect local businesses. They seized illegal vapes and tobacco during these inspections.

Community engagement was a priority. Officers visited a local nursery to educate children about policing and let them try on uniforms.

They also went to a primary school to discuss parking rules with parents and children, ensuring safe drop-offs and pick-ups.

A community meeting was held with Blackburn with Darwen Council. They focused on addressing anti-social behavior and improving early intervention.

Councillors joined officers on foot patrol in Edgworth, Tockholes, and Belmont. They spoke to residents about their concerns and signed them up for Lancashire Talking.

Local Neighbourhood Inspector Kathryn McIntyre highlighted the importance of removing drugs and illegal products from the streets.

She encouraged the community to report concerns and participate in the Lancashire Talking survey for updates on local issues.
