Exciting changes are coming to Woodbridge as Blue Fig steps in to revamp the former Galley restaurant with fresh ideas and a welcoming vibe
Woodbridge: The Galley closed its doors in November after serving the community for over 20 years. It was a beloved spot for many locals.
Originally opened in Ipswich by Urgur Vata in 1994, the Woodbridge location followed a decade later. It had a good run, but now it’s time for something new.
The Anjuna Pub Company, known for its Blue Fig restaurant in Bury St Edmunds, is stepping in to take over. They’re all about fresh, innovative menus, so it should be interesting.
They plan to keep the relaxed atmosphere that made the Galley popular. The new team wants to create a space where people can enjoy good food and a friendly vibe.
David Booth, the managing director, shared his excitement about joining the Woodbridge food scene. He sees the town as a gem in Suffolk, with great shops and eateries.
They have some fun plans in the works, like wine tasting events and a bottle shop for pre-ordering wines. Sounds like a great way to engage with the community!
David also mentioned they’re eager to hear from locals about the new menu and how they can support the community. It’s all about building connections.
Interestingly, the pub group has also recently taken over other local spots like The White Hart in Blythburgh and The Bell Inn in Middleton. It looks like they’re on a roll!
