Bracknell is stepping up police patrols after a rise in car thefts, urging residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activity.
Bracknell: The police are really ramping up their patrols this weekend in areas like Jennett’s Park, Great Hollands, Birch Hill, Hanworth, and Easthampstead. They’re doing this because of a recent spike in car thefts.
The Neighbourhood Policing Team is busy gathering info on recent incidents to track down the culprits. They want everyone to keep an eye out and report anything unusual.
If you see something suspicious, don’t hesitate to call the police. If it’s happening right now, dial 999. If you’re not sure, use 101. They’re also asking folks with CCTV or doorbell cameras to share any footage when reporting incidents.
One local mentioned seeing a car cruising slowly around Jameston in Birch Hill at about 3am. They couldn’t catch the license plate but noticed it was stopping near driveways. When the driver spotted them watching, they took off.
Another neighbor shared that they have video footage of someone recording cars and vans in Great Hollands. A few weeks later, a car was broken into nearby. It’s not clear if it’s connected, but it definitely raises eyebrows.
The NHPT is urging everyone in the community to stay alert and report any suspicious behavior. Thames Valley Police are also encouraging residents to report vehicle crimes by calling 101 or visiting their website.
