Braintree: GRIDSERVE, known for its Electric Forecourt at Galleys Corner, has donated £2,500 to the Braintree Area Foodbank. This is part of a larger £10,000 donation to four food banks across the UK.

Instead of the usual employee gifts, the company chose to support food banks, especially during the winter when demand spikes. Henry Hopkins, the charity manager, expressed gratitude for the donation, highlighting the rising costs the food bank faces.

Last year, they spent over £80,000 just to keep up with demand. It was nice for some GRIDSERVE team members to see the food bank in action and understand how it operates.

Right now, Braintree Area Foodbank is in need of items like pasta, tinned tomatoes, and baby wipes. Rebecca Trebble from GRIDSERVE emphasized their commitment to community support, saying they want to make a real difference where it counts. It’s great to see businesses stepping up to help those in need!
