Burnley’s strategic plan aims to improve life quality through education, safety initiatives, healthcare enhancements, and tackling inequality issues.
The plan also focuses on safety and improving healthcare. They want safer streets and homes. Plus, the plan will tackle inequality and help young people more.
The council will talk about the plan soon on February 19th. Then, the full council votes on March 4th. Significantly, people helped make this plan. Locals gave feedback for six weeks, and about seventy-five percent liked the plan. Many wanted more safety. They said it was important to feel safe.
People also cared about other things like action on climate change. Improving the town center was vital, and they also spoke about devolution.
A counselor, Afrasiab Anwar, spoke about the plan. He said they worked with the community to meet their needs. He wants to make it real for people.
Lancashire’s County Council sent a letter and liked Burnley’s ambitious plan. They praised Burnley for celebrating its identity well, and for promoting unity and opportunity. The letter showed they share goals in education, youth, and health.
The councils plan to work together, which is important even with limited funds. Lancashire supports Burnley’s safe community focus. Revitalizing town centers, preserving green spaces, and Burnley’s economic dreams matter. This includes training, manufacturing, and digital jobs, and groups like Burnley Together will help too.
