Zack Smith plays Robbie. He makes Robbie lovable. Smith gives coy smiles and delivers witty remarks. He is perfect as a romantic lead. Jayne Harnick plays Julia. She sings a sweet solo called ‘Someday’. She wins hearts with innocent looks.
Smith and Harnick act well on stage. The other cast members also shine. Chloe Hughes plays Linda. She learned the role quickly and her “Let Me Come Home” almost stole the show. Hannah Smith was funny as Grandma Rosie, and she got big cheers.
Herb Moore debuted as Glen. Tom Ray played Sammy. Bronte Tranter was Holly. Arran Abbey was very sweet as George. The chorus made people laugh a lot. They performed “Losers at Table 9” and did “Casualty of Love.”
Leigh Nash and Jim McMillan played many roles. They changed costumes quickly. Alli Owen directed the show. It was a fun trip back to the 1980s. Bianca and Bronte Tranter created energetic dances.
Jayne Harnick and Izzy Nash arranged the music. Mike Nash and Nathan Higham did sound and lighting. Helen McNicholas designed the set well. Arran Abbey and Donna Gleave did the makeup. The costumes and props were great too, and they evoked big hair and large phones.
Everyone worked together on “The Wedding Singer.” The show displayed unity and creativity. The group is proud of what they did and are ambitious for future shows. Next up is “Calendar Girls,” coming this summer.
