Bury: The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for fog in the area. Fog patches formed overnight and are expected to linger until around 11am.

This is just the first of two warnings for Bury this week. On Friday, a wind warning will kick in as Storm Eowyn approaches.

The fog could reduce visibility to less than 100 meters, which might lead to some travel hiccups. So, if you’re commuting, be prepared for slower journey times.

Bus and train services could face delays, and flights might be affected too. It’s a good idea to check road conditions if you’re driving and allow extra time for your trips.

Also, make sure your fog lights are working before you head out. The warning covers most of the North West, including Greater Manchester, Lancashire, and Blackpool.

Parts of the North East, Midlands, and Wales are also under this weather warning. And it’s just the beginning, as Storm Eowyn is on its way.

This storm, the fifth named storm of the year, could bring gusts over 80mph, prompting more yellow warnings. Mike Silverstone from the Met Office said we should expect some pretty wild weather on Friday and Saturday.

He mentioned that the strongest winds will likely hit Northern Ireland, northern England, northwestern Wales, and western Scotland, where gusts could exceed 80mph.

Heavy rain is also expected, making the end of the week quite unpleasant. It’s wise to keep an eye on the forecast as more details will come out in the next few days.
