Butcher’s Block Bromsgrove owners worry about local bank closures affecting businesses
The owners prefer face-to-face banking. A couple of years ago, their business account was hacked. They feel pop-up banks don’t meet their needs.

Traveling far to manage accounts isn’t easy for busy business owners. Lilith mentioned that there are no other branches close by.
Lloyds and Halifax suggested using the Post Office for cash services. However, Lilith believes it should be a last resort.
Many residents are also concerned. Some don’t have internet banking or transportation to reach other branches.
Bromsgrove MP Bradley Thomas is advocating for a Banking Hub in town. But local businesses worry about the limited services it would provide.
Lilith emphasized that the Post Office isn’t a reliable option. They still use the outdated Horizon system, which has caused many issues.
Despite banks making profits, they push everyone to online banking. Lilith finds this unfair.
Lloyds Banking Group stated that the closures are due to a shift towards online banking. They plan to close 61 Lloyds, 61 Halifax, and 14 Bank of Scotland branches.
The closures will affect the Lloyds Bank at 112 High Street on May 7 and Halifax at 122 High Street on May 29.
A spokesperson mentioned that over 20 million customers use their apps for banking. They claim customers have more choices than ever.
Customers can also use telephone banking or visit community bankers. They can do their banking at over 11,000 Post Office branches or in a Banking Hub.
