Billericay: Cafe Air has transformed from a small kiosk to a full café. It took over the space of Essex Woodlife and had a grand relaunch this week.

Now, customers can enjoy a variety of Asian starters and a fresh lunch menu. Options include green curry, satay, and Vietnamese spring rolls.

Manager Sengrassamy Carter runs the café with her partner, Daniel Homer. They believe their café offers something special on the High Street.

Sengrassamy, originally from Laos, shared their unique approach. They serve Asian starters for lunch, and customers can dine in or take away.

Besides Asian dishes, they offer coffee, tea, toast, poached eggs, and avocado. Their popular Thai lunch includes green curry and Vietnamese noodle soup.

They also have chef specials like Pad Thai and salmon grills with Phanaeng sauce. For dessert, enjoy banana cakes, Victoria sponges, and refreshing drinks.

Sengrassamy emphasized their friendly, family-run atmosphere. Her partner and daughter work there, creating a warm environment for customers.

The café features cozy, floral decorations. They host Thai nights on Fridays and Saturdays, where customers can bring their own alcohol.

Despite being a small shop, they offer a diverse menu. In a few months, they plan to introduce a takeaway service.

Originally, Cafe Air started as a coffee kiosk at Essex Woodlife. They still use some of the original tables from that business.

Sengrassamy decided to offer something different, bringing in Thai and Laos cuisine. She previously ran other Thai food places in Leigh.
