Clacton: The popular seaside spot is buzzing with excitement as it gets ready to feature on Celebrity Antiques Road Trip. This episode brings together TV host Matthew Wright and comedian Shazia Mirza, along with antiques experts David Harper and Stephen Moore.

They’ll be cruising around in a cool electric 1966 Mercedes, checking out local shops in Tendring. It’s all part of the eighth episode of the show’s 13th series, airing on BBC 2 on February 5 at 7pm.

According to pier spokesman Nigel Brown, filming was a blast. The crew had a great time on the big wheel, munching on candy floss, and even trying their hand at fishing. Local historian Norman Jacobs joined in to share some fun facts about Clacton.

Matthew, who loves fishing, got everyone involved during their downtime at the pier. He even made candy floss with a little help from the staff. Shazia focused on finding unique gaming and sporting antiques, along with some cool Punjabi chairs.

Clacton Pier has a history of being featured on TV, including a previous episode of Antiques Road Trip back in 2021. It’s a favorite spot for production crews, having appeared in various films, TV shows, and even music videos, like the Pet Shop Boys’ hit Always on My Mind.
