A Chirk man has been sentenced for threatening a pub manager with a knife, causing fear and distress in Wrexham
Wrexham: So, there was this guy, Adam Rogers, from Chirk, who got into some serious trouble. He showed up at the Midland pub and things went south fast.
He was drinking and got all aggressive when the manager, Lindsey Holman, asked him to leave. Instead of just walking out, he threatened her with a glass and then pulled out a knife!
Can you believe that? He even punched another customer for no reason on his way out. It was a wild scene, and Lindsey was terrified he might actually stab her.
Luckily, he tossed the knife away in an alley, but the police caught him on CCTV. When they found him, he was still acting all tough.
In court, it turned out he had a pretty long rap sheet with 37 convictions. Lindsey said she felt unsafe at work and home since the incident, which is just awful.
His lawyer tried to argue that he was making progress after getting clean from drugs, but the judge wasn’t having it. He pointed out that Adam’s excuse for having the knife was ridiculous.
In the end, the judge gave him 15 months in prison and a restraining order to stay away from the pub for three years. It’s a serious wake-up call for him.
