Longfield Community Hospice’s Christmas tree recycling raised £82,239 for vital services, thanks to community support and dedicated volunteers.
Longfield: The Christmas tree recycling event was a big success. It raised £82,239 for Longfield Community Hospice. This money supports their Hospice at Home care and other important services.
Kirsty Murray, the Senior Fundraising Manager, shared the great news. They exceeded last year’s fundraising target, which is fantastic. She thanked the 181 volunteers who helped from local groups and companies.
They collected 4,149 trees from many areas, including Brockworth and Wotton-Under-Edge. The community really came together for this event. They also received help from 76 vans, some with drivers and some without.
Stroud District Council helped promote the tree collection service. This event not only raised funds but also helped recycle trees instead of sending them to landfills. They look forward to doing it all again next Christmas!
