Clifton: Clifton with Rawcliffe Primary School just got an outstanding Ofsted rating. The inspectors praised the early years provision and student behavior.
They rated the school as good for education quality, personal development, and leadership. The inspection happened on December 3 and 4, with 623 students enrolled.
Previously, the school was rated good overall in July 2021. Ofsted now focuses on four areas instead of giving an overall grade.
These areas are quality of education, behavior and attitudes, personal development, and leadership. This change came after feedback from parents and teachers.
Inspectors noted that Clifton with Rawcliffe Primary, part of the Pathfinder Multi Academy Trust, is a calm and supportive place where students thrive.
The report highlighted that students meet high expectations for behavior and achievement. Inspectors found the pupils to be extremely courteous and polite.
They described the behavior throughout the school as exemplary. Students play and learn together with friendliness and cooperation.
In lessons, pupils are attentive and engaged. They are motivated to meet their teachers’ ambitious expectations.
Early years children behave exceptionally well, following routines and engaging in planned activities with focus.
Inspectors found that pupils benefit from a broad and ambitious curriculum. They noted that teachers’ clear explanations help students understand concepts well.
