Cogog is inviting food waste initiatives to apply for grants, offering up to £10,000 to support sustainable projects in Denbighshire
Denbighshire: Cogog is stepping up to help food waste initiatives with new grants. They’re offering up to £10,000 to support local projects aimed at reducing food waste.
Since launching in March 2024, Cogog has been a real game-changer. They’ve already dished out over £200,000 to help sustainable food initiatives get off the ground.
Last year alone, they funded 25 applications with more than £145,000 in grants. This money helped both existing projects and new ideas take shape.
Plus, 13 community groups got small grants to buy essential gear for cooking and food storage. They even helped with tools for community gardens!
They also funded 26 subscriptions to Fareshare, ensuring fresh food deliveries for a whole year. That’s a big win for local communities.
Now, Cogog is encouraging more groups in Denbighshire to apply for this new round of funding. It’s a great chance to get some financial support for your projects.
Tom Barham from the Denbighshire Voluntary Services Council praised the volunteers working hard to tackle food poverty and promote healthy eating.
He mentioned how important it is to support these groups so they can keep making a difference in their communities.
Councillor Rhys Thomas echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the vital role of volunteer groups. He urged them to apply for Cogog’s grants to help expand their efforts.
Don’t forget, the deadline for applications is Friday, January 31. If you need more info or want an application pack, just reach out to DVSC.
