Chelmsford: So, there was this crazy incident on October 2. A volunteer was driving an elderly man to the hospital when she got caught up in a road rage situation.

Daniel Burlingham, 30, jumped out of his car with a big metal pole and smashed the bonnet, causing a grand’s worth of damage. Can you believe that?

But wait, there’s more! In another road rage episode, he backed into a woman’s car at night and even kicked her wing mirror. What a mess!

The poor woman ended up with pain in her back, neck, and shoulder. It turns out these were revenge attacks because he thought someone insulted his driving. Seriously?

Fast forward to November 8, when two cops spotted Burlingham’s VW Golf. They thought he was driving while banned, and boy, were they right!

On the A12, he sped past the police, kicking off a wild chase that started in Colchester and ended in Manningtree. At one point, he was zooming at 105 mph in a 70 mph zone!

He even hit a 30 mph street in Dedham at 40 mph. Talk about reckless! Eventually, he got stuck in traffic and tried to make a run for it across a field but got caught.

The judge, Miss Recorder Gabrielle Posner, said it was a miracle no one got hurt. She called his driving appalling and said he deserved to be locked up.

Burlingham, from Westcliff, was sentenced to two years in prison after admitting to assault, criminal damage, and other driving offenses. He had a history of trouble, too.

The judge made it clear: he’s too dangerous to be on the road. So, two years it is!
