After his gig, Ed Byrne enjoyed a pint at the Globe Inn, chatting with locals and making the night memorable for everyone.
After the gig, he swung by the Globe Inn on East Street with a couple of mates. It’s not his first time in Weymouth, either. Last year, he had a drink at the Belvedere before another show.
This time, he really made a night of it, sticking around until closing time. Steve Brown, the bartender, didn’t even realize Ed was there at first. But once folks caught on, the vibe in the pub totally shifted.
Steve said Ed was super friendly, chatting with everyone and even taking photos with fans. It was a Sunday, so there were plenty of regulars around, and Ed was more than happy to mingle.
Selina Richardson, the landlady, mentioned how nice it was to see him pop in. She said he’s just a regular guy like everyone else. They’ve had a few bands drop by after shows at the Pavilion, but Ed really made an impression.
He’s a well-known face on TV, appearing on shows like QI and Live At The Apollo. His recent performance in Weymouth was called Ed Byrne: Tragedy Plus Time, showcasing his best material from the 2023 Edinburgh Festival.
This show is said to be his most personal yet, touching on themes of grief and loss. Sounds like a night to remember for both Ed and the locals!
