Two housing schemes are underway in mid Wales, providing affordable homes in Aberystwyth and Builth Wells.
Aberystwyth: Exciting news! Two new housing projects are starting in mid Wales. Barcud, a Welsh housing association, is behind these developments. SJ Roberts Construction is doing the building.
In Aberystwyth, they’re adding 33 affordable homes on Piercefield Lane. This project is called Maes Gwenallt. It will have different types of homes, from cozy one-bedroom apartments to spacious four-bedroom houses.
These homes will be eco-friendly, featuring air source heat pumps and solar panels. They’ll have an A rating for energy efficiency, which is great for the environment.
Meanwhile, in Builth Wells, 31 homes are being built on Hospital Road. This site will include a mix of houses and bungalows, also ranging from one to four bedrooms.
Matthew Roberts, the construction director, shared his excitement. He mentioned the strong partnership with Barcud and how important these homes are for the community.
He also noted how beautiful the locations are for these new homes. These projects follow other successful developments by SJ Roberts for Barcud.
Alex Dawson, from Barcud, emphasized the importance of identifying where affordable housing is needed most. After a careful selection process, they’re thrilled to work with SJ Roberts on these projects.
These new homes will help increase Barcud’s rental properties, providing much-needed affordable housing in mid Wales.
