Get ready for an unforgettable night as Corinne Bailey Rae performs her latest album with a full orchestra at the Roundhouse
London: The Roundhouse is buzzing with excitement! Corinne Bailey Rae is set to perform her latest album, Black Rainbows, in a special concert. She’ll be joined by the talented Guildhall Session Orchestra, which is made up of former students from the Guildhall School of Music.
This concert is happening on April 27, and it’s part of a month-long festival that runs from April 1 to 30. The festival is packed with all sorts of events, including comedy, spoken word, and club nights, so there’s something for everyone.
One of the highlights will be writer and comic Jack Rooke’s club night, Show Hole. Plus, film star Daniel Kaluuya’s youth theatre, Centre 59, will make its debut. There’s also singer-songwriter Tom Odell performing a song cycle, and musician Nitin Sawhney curating a showcase of talent.
And let’s not forget the legendary Poetry Slam final, where the best new spoken word artists will take the stage. It’s going to be a fantastic month!
Corinne Bailey Rae first burst onto the scene in 2006 with her hit Put Your Records On. She’s had an incredible career, becoming the fourth British female artist to debut at number one on the charts. Over the years, she’s snagged two GRAMMYs, a MOBO Award, a BRIT Award, and an Ivor Novello.
Black Rainbows is a fresh direction for her music, inspired by a visit to the Stony Island Arts Bank in Chicago. This album features a more experimental sound and is sure to be a treat for fans.
Tickets for this special performance go on sale on January 24 at 10 am through the Roundhouse website. Don’t miss out!
