Cromarty: Stewart Smith is making waves as an apprentice. He’s been shortlisted for the ALBAS, a big deal in the land-based and aquaculture world.

Stewart is currently studying for an SVQ in Trees and Timber at the Scottish School of Forestry while working with Forestry and Land Scotland. He’s got a real passion for nature and woodwork, which started when he began crafting wooden garden ornaments.

The ALBAS recognize talent across various categories, from animal care to environmental conservation. Dr. Liz Barron-Majerik from Lantra Scotland shared how these awards shine a light on the hard work of skilled individuals at all career stages.

With a record number of entries this year, it’s a great time to celebrate the achievements of those in the industry. Good luck to all the finalists at the ceremony in March!
